Overview
Overview
When our team was tasked with creating a product management tool, we aimed to rethink how Agile teams collect and act on feedback. The result was Tempo, a JIRA add-on designed to make daily surveys simple, meaningful, and actionable.

Competitive Analysis
We explored existing corporate survey tools to identify gaps and opportunities. What stood out was a consistent issue: complex "well-being" surveys often failed to generate actionable insights, and most tools offered weak or confusing data visualizations. It became clear that there was room for a solution that combined clarity, usability, and meaningful analytics.
User Interviews
To design a product people would actually use, we spoke with 9 individuals across organizational levels—from junior staff to managers and corporate leaders. These conversations highlighted the human side of productivity: employees wanted a simple way to express satisfaction, managers wanted actionable insights, and everyone wanted a tool that felt intuitive rather than burdensome.
Product Features
Tempo combines intuitive UI mock-ups, quick and targeted surveys, clear data visualizations, projection mapping, customizable tags, gamification, and accurate utilization tracking to make feedback actionable, engaging, and easy to interpret.
Wireframes
Low-fidelity wireframes allowed us to experiment with layout and functionality. We mapped out manager dashboards, team views, and employee feedback flows. These early designs helped shape the structure of the product and ensured a user-centered approach from the start.
Final Designs
Through multiple iterations, we refined concepts and distributed tasks efficiently. Tackling the broad challenge of enhancing the digital employee experience taught us how to balance innovation with clarity, ultimately delivering a polished and functional tool.
Takeaways
This project reinforced that successful management goes beyond metrics—it’s about people. Great managers listen, understand, and empower, and tools like Tempo make that process easier. By providing actionable insights without being intrusive, Tempo helps employees grow professionally while enabling teams to thrive and achieve their goals.
